Red Carpet

“The Devil Wears Prada” London Premiere

Written By Ellia Romeiro-Lourenco

Following the sequel of the 2006 iconic blockbuster The Devil Wears Prada, major stars, cast and fans all gathered in London’s Leicester Square on April 22nd , 2026 to celebrate the release of the The Devil Wears Prada 2, twenty years after the cult classic film was released. The original cast of the movie returned to the big screen to reprise their irreplaceable roles and are back to claim the throne they reigned two decades ago.

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Bluntattended at the London premiere

For a film that centers around the fashion world, the star studded cast certainly did not miss a beat at their premiere in London. Meryl Streep strutted the red carpet in Prada, Anne Hathaway went with a sleek tuxedo inspired gown from Versace, Emily Blunt is dipped in red perfection by Balenciaga, and Stanley Tucci is poised in a custom Paul Smith suit. Each one of these opulent garments perfectly reflects the legendary icon that is wearing it. It seemed that the dress code in London had more of a clean cut edge to it, with many of the gowns and suits being heavily dependent on the precise lines and angular aspects of the garment. Whereas in New York, the outfits were more over the top with voluminous, heavily structured, and flowing silhouettes that carried the theme of drama from the screen to the red carpet.

Amid the many incredible garments that were worn by the cast of the film, many guests at the respective premieres weren't afraid to make a fashion statement. Fashion alumni such as Donatella Versace, and Heidi Klum as well as fellow cast members Simone Ashley and Caleb Hearon showed up in elegant garments that further exemplified the sheer volume and impact that this classic film has had on the world. Many other stars from all over the world came to the red carpet in London. Nicky Hilton Rothschild took the carpet by storm in an archival 2007 Roberto Cavalli Plunging Jewel-Conch Cutout Cape-Sleeve Maxi Dress. With its clever cutouts and the Cavalli signature “Ray of Gold” print adorning the whole garment, Hilton stood out from the crowd in this timeless garment, as there was nothing like it on the carpet. With other attendees of the premier opting for a more contemporary and classic approach amid the theme of staying on brand with the bold colours of the film, Hilton turned that pattern straight on its head with this bold signature Cavalli print.

With that being said, there are many key differences between the outfits from the film's London premiere in comparison to their NYC counterparts. Emily Blunt is a key example of the vast difference between the fashions of each of these opulent premieres. On the left is an image of Blunt in London wearing a Balenciaga corseted strapless bodice with a long streaming train paired with matching trousers in a bold shade of red. And on the right is an image of Blunt in New York wearing a gorgeous couture Schiaparelli gown from their most recent spring 2026 collection. Both of these premieres showcased fashion excellence with two very different approaches that perfectly immortalized the quintessential energy surrounding The Devil Wears Prada franchise.

Fans of the film, new and old, as well as admirers of all things fashion related will all be thoroughly pleased if not heavily inspired by all of the outfits that were shown off at the London Premiere of the new film The Devil Wears Prada 2.
