Cannes Film Festival After-Parties: The Real Luxury Scene
written by mariana lora

Every May, the world's attention turns to the French Riviera as the Cannes Film Festival welcomes actors, directors, models, producers, and industry leaders from across the globe. While the red carpet remains one of the most photographed events in entertainment, many insiders know the real spectacle begins after hours. As the sun sets over La Croisette, luxury hotels, private villas, beach clubs, and superyachts become the setting for some of the world's most exclusive celebrations.

The Cannes after party scene is an extension of the festival itself and, for many guests, is just as anticipated as the screenings. Invitations are highly coveted, with guest lists limited to A list actors, fashion icons, luxury executives, and filmmakers. Hidden away from the restless paparazzi, the atmosphere is less about publicity and more about private networking and celebrating creativity.

Among the most sought after invitations is the annual Chopard party. Chopard has served as an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival since 1998 and is responsible for creating the iconic Palme d'Or trophy presented to the festival's highest honour. Each year, the Swiss jeweller hosts an extravagant evening celebrating both cinema and high jewellery, with guests arriving in couture gowns and millions of dollars worth of diamond creations. The event regularly attracts Hollywood stars, international models, filmmakers, and industry insiders, reinforcing Chopard's long standing connection with the festival. In recent years, attendees have included Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima, Demi Moore, Odessa A'zion, Eva Herzigová, Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner, and many other familiar faces from film and fashion. Live performances by artists such as Diana Ross, Robbie Williams, and Mark Ronson have helped cement the party's reputation as one of Cannes' defining social events.

Another invitation that consistently ranks among the festival's most prestigious is the Kering Women in Motion dinner. Launched in partnership with the Cannes Film Festival in 2015, the initiative celebrates women who have made meaningful contributions to cinema while supporting emerging female talent through awards and discussions. Hosted by luxury group Kering, whose portfolio includes Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, and Bottega Veneta, the evening brings together Academy Award winners, acclaimed directors, fashion leaders, and cultural figures for an elegant dinner overlooking Cannes. While the programme celebrates achievements within film, it has also become one of the week's strongest showcases for luxury fashion and high jewellery.

No conversation about Cannes would be complete without the legendary amfAR Gala. Held at the iconic Hôtel du Cap Eden Roc in nearby Antibes, the annual charity event combines philanthropy with extraordinary luxury. The evening features a live auction offering one of a kind artworks, rare jewellery, exclusive travel experiences, and unique entertainment packages, raising millions of euros each year for AIDS research. Guests enjoy a formal dinner followed by performances from internationally renowned musicians before the celebration continues into the early hours with a glamorous after party. The gala has become one of the defining social events of the Cannes calendar, attracting celebrities, philanthropists, fashion houses, and luxury brands from around the world.
From couture fashion to galas and waterfront celebrations, these events embody the glamour that has defined the French Riviera for decades. For those fortunate enough to secure an invitation, the evening festivities are where Hollywood, fashion, and luxury truly come together.
